I have found a website that is geared towards people are dealing with substance abuse. I think the blog would be a good source of news going on around the United States but would not be a good source to use for any scholarly use. I think that it would be a good source mainly to find resources and other people to help the person dealing with the issue with using substances to overcome the obstacle in their life. I would say it would not be good to use for scholarly use because it is using newspaper sources from around the US and not any factual sources written and is using research.

The web adress is to particular blog that is giving a story from Dallas about teen drunk driving. It doesn't provide any factual information from research rather just a story.
Adolescent Substance Abuse. (2011, January 7th). Is Dallass Too Lenient on Teen Drunk Driving.http://www.adolescent-substance-abuse.com/blog/2011/01/is-dallas-too-lenient-on-teen-drunk-driving.html
Hi Beth,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this blog on adolescent substance abuse. The blog has many strong points. While I would not cite any of the posts in a paper, the blog provides many good research leads (news articles and research studies) that you could locate and use. What the blogger could have done better was link to all of the news articles and research studies that they post about, so that the reader could evaluate those studies and news articles for themselves.
Sincerely,
Professor Wexelbaum
